Rabbit Magic

by

November grey, end of day

Mist time

smoke time

rabbit time,

magic time

Small boy follows through the gate.

Golden time, berry time, crimson leaves in the lake.

Footsteps follow, join the chase.

Where to? Where next?

Look around.

What's hiding in autumn leaves and evening light?

The moon shines down

as secret friends dance

on into the night.

Follow rabbit through his door,

time is passing into sleep.

Falling snow, winter time,

peaceful snow, feather soft.

Spring sun shines and small

boy wakes, follow rabbit,

flutter wings.

Buds unfurl and thrush sings

sweet, the season's green, the

blossom's pink.

Small boy follows through

the arch, to gold and blue.

The spring has passed.

Silent heat and poppy red,

a summer's beauty will not last.

Danger, rabbit! Race through seasons.

Follow small boy back to safety,

back to mist and bonfire burning,

frosty air and warm soft bed.

November grey, end of day

Mist time, smoke time, rabbit time,

magic time
